This is a freestyle jumping cord. It the same cord use in competition.
I use it inside in my basement or outside over a smooth-no-abrasive surface like the floor in my garage.
Speed is easy to control by the user or by adjusting the length by few inches. If you want to go real fast buy a 3mm jumping cord. To go more slower get a 5 mm set. I'm 6' tall and I cut 16" of cord length. The cord pass 1' above my head in normal use.
I bought this cord - my only one- for tricks with feet and hands not for speed training. On the other hand, I can spin that thing faster than the usual user at my school.
For cardio it's as good as running on a treadmill; I hate running.

This thing is trash. Cable broke within literally 5 minutes of use. Should probably try and return it, probably not worth the effort. I was using one of those crossfit/cable speed ropes and wanted to get something a little slower that would help work on techniques. I jump in the driveway, looking on buyjumpropes.com website it says that this is a durable, outdoor jump rope. Couldn't have been more the opposite. Like i said, trash.

I'm a pretty casual jumper and this rope is perfect to take with me to the gym. I've been using it for several weeks now and it's held up well and doesn't tangle. Solid quality at a great price.

Love this particular rope. Plain and simple, yet it doesn't feel cheap.

Took a while to get used to, coming from a high end Crossfit wire rope (for double jumps etc), but I got quite used to this rope.
There is no problem at all in getting the rope around for crossovers, side to side swings, fast feet work.
Highly recommended. I train for boxing and find these just right. They will start to work the shoulders after about a minute or two for me, if I am roping fast.

Safe to say this is my favorite rope. I bought two of them having a feeling that I'd love it and I was absolutely right. I use it primarily for freestyle jumping and tricks, but it works just as well for fitness jumping as well. It's inexpensive, durable, and travels easy. I don't go anywhere without this rope! I would definitely recommend this rope to my personal training clients and friends!

I expected it to be less smooth without ball bearings (all ropes seem to have them these days) but I found this rope to be perfect. It's light weight, solid PVC (i think) rope, and is very comfortable and easy to adjust. It might not be the fanciest rope in the world, but it certainly gets the job done and feels like a bargain at this price!

I own about a dozen ropes (boxers, cross fit, beaded, long handles). Like my children, each has its own personality and I love them all equally. My favorite is always the one I'm currently using....but if I had to choose a "go to" rope...I'd likely reach for this one.
